Wednesday I had a nice, impromptu lunch with Columbia. We went to Cinnamon Cafe. The photos are using my Blackberry, so they aren’t as rich in color as a regular digital camera would have, but you get the idea! Once inside, the place looks a lot better than it does from the outside. It’s spacious, simply done but pleasant looking. Part of the way the restaurant appears to look from the outside, looking in, could be the age of the glass in the windows and the fact that there is a lot of glare from the sun, which obscures the view inside.
Having never eaten there before, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The food is good, and Columbia, who knows the owner, said he uses a lot of organic foods. One thing for sure, the food was very fresh and did not have that devitalized taste you get when restaurants prepare or pre-chop items too far in advance.
Columbia had the Angus Hamburger, which is actually much bigger than it appears to look from the photograph. I liked the touch of adding cucumbers. It came with huge, hand cut fries.
I opted for their Two Hearts Omelet, which was basically filled with vegetables, including hearts of palm, and feta cheese. I usually don’t go carbohydrate crazy, but their freshly cut and pan fried potatoes were delicious!!
