In the early part of last week I should have celebrated turning 29 yet again, except circumstances beyond my control occurred in rapid and unwelcome succession. Thus, celebrations were rescheduled and kept low keyed, which was just as well since this lousy bug I picked up (not part of the Birthday Bounty) keeps hanging on. Friends would take me to lunch, I’d come home, do a little (operative word, “little”) work, and then take a nap. Thank you mother nature. I had no idea it was so tough to go from 28 to 29.
Usually on the Birthday day, I’m never home and upon my return, there are a number of birthday calls and mini Operettas, all of which are funny to listen to. This year, since I was home on the big day, through sinus congested passages, I answered the phone and threw off almost all but the heartiest cantantes when they actually heard my voice. Okay, so I sounded a bit like a Fran Dresher, but it was me.
There were some awesome gifts to be had, which I always appreciate. I received some pretty nice stuff, all of which I can use, including gift certificates and cash (thank you prima, you’re the best prima!!!!). Yanacita wins this year’s prize for the cutest item, a “Classic Lunch Sack” by Sugar Booger. I am not making up the name of the company, and no, it did not come with Boogers. Again, thank you for not sharing those.
Sugar Booger is a one of the product lines by a company called Ore, who has a tag line of “Happy Products for Happy People.” This is the style of the bag which has a thermal lining and no freakishly toxic smell (thank you) that you sometimes get with thermal lined bags of lower quality. They also have Floor Splat Mats, for those of us who like to share our food in a wider geographical area.
Check out owner Lisa Lowe’s “About Us” section. You have to love an Entrepreneur who has created a good product line that incorporates fun, whimsy, and usefulness for the girl on the go, (or in my case, the girl on her fainting couch).
A metaphysical organization I had been a long time member of ascribes to the period before your Birthday as being one where things that are not working for you begin to break down, so it is time for introspection, reflection, and action, so that your new cycle (from your Birthday) can begin with a fresh start and different outlook. Maybe the universe is telling me my new year has begun with an investment in Kimberly Clark and nap time, but a lot of nap time also provides time for thought and plenty of time for dreaming, where we often an receive intuitive messages about the next course of action for our lives.
