A friend of mine told me that she used the cash station outside of her bank last week, and when she went to the bank this week, her account had been cleaned out. The bank (North Community) has since taken care of the problem, which was to remove an almost impossible to detect reader that had been placed in the card reader area by criminals. Apparently it scanned card information and recorded the PIN numbers of anyone who used that machine. The bank is working on getting her money back. When my card was compromised with MB Financial (the Corus Bank), I filed a Police Report. I was surprised that she was told she didn’t need to. I was able to recover all of my stolen funds, and I hope the same for her, as well.
