There are no photos, just a report here. I’m glad to see they are busy. I decided to pick up an Angus burger right after ending a whirlwind of errands. I waited for about 35 minutes after giving my order, only to be told that they ran out of burgers! I’ve eaten there before, and usually there are always open seats. I’ve never seen it this busy!
All in all, I waited for over an hour for a take out. Normally, I’d have walked out and just gone home, but I was exhausted from all the running around, and so sitting for an hour was actually tolerable. I wish I had my Kindle, but I did catch up on emails, Twitter and a few other things that are enabled with a Smart Phone.
From the outside, the Cinnamon Cafe doesn’t scream cuteness, but the food is good, and good enough for me to wait for an hour or so. I ended up with the grilled skirt steak, which was quite good. It comes with eggs, toast, potatoes and a corn muffin. Having not eaten since 6:30 AM and it was well after 2:00 PM by the time I came home, I was famished. Waiting THAT long for food from anywhere else in my neighborhood would seem cuckoo, but at Cinnamon Cafe, they use mostly organic ingredients, preservative free ingredients, and their dairy is hormone free and pesticide free. I only know the dairy issue because the waiter took the carton out for me, in case I wanted cream in my coffee. They have two coffee types, with or without cinnamon. Give me Cinnamon!!
The hash browns were perfect. Unlike most restaurants, there was very little salt. The eggs, which are organic, were done to perfection, and the corn muffin…. OMG! The corn muffin is a generous size, and I could actually eat it! I do not like corn muffins when there is a lot of sugar or other sweetening in it. If I want something shaped like a muffin that is sweet, I’ll buy a cupcake. An added bonus – their corn muffin had some jalapeno in it. It, too, was perfect. And yes, this is a lot of food – I’ve been grazing all day since I returned home.
Now obviously neither the owners nor waitstaff purposely likes to tortue customers, and the waiter apologized profusely; I did appreciate his apologies, and adjustment they made on my bill. I’m happy for them that business has picked up, and next time I’ll have to avoid the peak lunch hour when it is unseasonably warm in January!
